Success Story Highlight
Case Western Reserve University’s Schools of Medicine and Engineering partnered with VA Investigators to develop a suite of assistive and restorative technologies that improve the quality of life for Veterans. The collaboration has led to multiple innovations, including the Uromonitor, a wireless catheter-free sensor that tracks and records a patient’s bladder pressure and volume.
The Uromotor assists in the diagnosis of urinary incontinence while increasing patient comfort compared to catheter solutions. Researchers and physicians from Case Western Reserve University and the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center conducted a trial study for the Uromonitor in 2020 to validate that the innovation improves outcomes for patients.
