VA provides an interest form that you can submit to tell them about your innovative idea or intent. Submitting the form guarantees that your submission will be routed to and reviewed by relevant VA staff.

If you want to innovate, here's how it works:

The Innovation Process consist of for steps. Submit, Confirmation, Review and Collaboration.

Submission

Use our interest form to submit information about yourself, your organization, your interests, and your idea/ solution.

Confirmation

Your submission will be routed to relevant teams to identify if it aligns with VA strategic priorities and VA customers’ needs. You will be updated throughout the process.

Review

We will evaluate your solution’s fit with current VA needs. If a department is interested in learning more or discussing collaboration opportunities, they will contact you. All submissions will be kept on file for VA staff to review as needs arise.

Collaboration

If the submission is selected, both parties will complete a set of collaboration-based legal agreements that will protect Intellectual Property (IP) rights and outline the benefits and responsibilities on all sides.

  • Join the Innovation Community as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Veteran Representative
